Triple Treasure defined through total self-acceptance and trust
When you totally admit you are as you are, and totally trust in being, this is Triple Return to Three Treasures: Buddha, Dharma, Sangha.
The essential call of the Triple Treasure
The Triple Treasure is an historical expression, in human language, which says, "Come back...come back home."
Returning home to the true self that was never lost
When one returns to true self, one recognizes one has never been freaked out, it was just pretending, or something. One can present apparent selves in order to protect the true self and yet this true self is indestructible and eternal.
Every phenomenon as complete Triple Treasure
My speaking to you is one body of Triple Treasure. Any single phenomenon, any single being, is a perfect realization of Triple Treasure.
Applying the Seijo koan to ordinary fluctuations of self
This is a koan: "Which one was the true Seijo?" Don't you experience this kind of thing all the time? It's like when you are feeling "off," and then the next moment you are "just right," and as soon as you say it, "Oh, wait a minute, I'm feeling a little bit blah, again."
Body as home, returning to it as awakening
When you return home, and enter your house, you become master of your home. Your home is your body. Returning to the self, the true self which is nobody, is nothing but the complete awakening. We call this Buddha.
Recognizing Buddha's mind in his mother's care after being lost in mountains
I knew that there was no difference between Buddha's mind and my mother's mind. He was alive.
Sangha as natural gathering, like ants to sweetness
There are many reasons why people come together. If you put sugar on the ground, in one hour you see that ants are gathering. If Buddha appears it makes one "sangha."
Explaining the meaning of kie (taking refuge) through hitchhiking analogy
"Ki" is "return," not returning something to somebody, but you return. And "e" is "to," "return to." Usually "e" is "depending on," maybe fully depending on, like putting your thumb out to hitch a ride from someone.
On the Dharma Treasure as encompassing Truth
We came from Truth, we are in Truth, and we will go back to Truth. It is almost impossible for each of us to observe the whole Truth.
The helplessness of seeking an ideal, compared to unrequited love
Maybe we are in a sort of helpless state. Looking around, we don't see any ideal image to follow. People in love have this kind of view continuously. You admire someone from far away who doesn't pay any attention to you.
